Windows 11

I updated windows 10 to 11 about 2 weeks ago and had to reinstall FSX and all of my A2A aircraft as the update crashed the FSX program. On an upside the new windows lets you install FSX and the A2A aircraft and all works fine. One problem that I encountered was that AS16 Weather did not install properly with windows 11. After contacting Hi Fi simulation and working with their tec, they were able to come up with a fix for FSX and all is working fine now. Just thought that I would let you know in case there is still some old fogies like me out there still using FSX. The following is a link to the Active Sky 16 fix for those who may need it

not much really, directx 12 support is nothing new, it's there since win10
All they really have i guess is some Auto HDR and Android app support
I guess someone who wants to fly Infinite Flight on their pc got their dream come true
If you are unable to fly an aircraft, become the aircraft
-the guy who came with concept of a wing suit, perhaps

I updated to Windows 11, from Windows 10, on the 5th October, that's day 1 of the release..
So far, after 3 weeks, no issues at all with my 8 installs of Fs2004 as well as my P3Dv4.5, which is more or less very similar to FSX.
Generally, I've found that Windows 11 is smoother than any previous versions & seems to run a bit faster.
Why I updated? Just a thing I have, to have the latest operating system on my laptop, including security updates.

My new computer arrived with Win11 preinstalled. I tried to install FlightsimX and Accelerator numerous times BUT each and every time, simconnct.dll would not register. Couldn't install FSUPIC because it kept looking for simconnect. There are NO entries in the Win11/SxS directory pertaining to simconnect. So, I dumped Win11 and put Win10 in. Voila!! All works in flightsimX and FSUIPC installed just fine. Anyone else have this as an issue?? My old computer was Win10 and everything worked fine with FlightsimX, Accelerator and FSUIPC.

I had issues with my old PC, so I replaced it. However, I couldn't install my FSX acceleration. Apparently, it is illegal to install fsx on more than one PC. I could run it for 30 mins, then I got an error. Well, after I upgraded to win 11, I decided to bite the bullet and purchase a new copy of FSX steam. Voila! FSX and all sceneries, planes and everything else works like a charm. <<u
