I have a folder configuration like this :- C: Computer/Program Files/Microsoft Games/ Microsoft Flight Simulator X/Addon Scenery
And in the Addon Scenery folder I have a sub folder called Canary
In the sub folder Canary there are 2 folders

Canary Scenery
Canary texture.

Just to clarify - The two sub-folders in the Canary folder must be named Scenery & Texture (not Canary Scenery & Canary Texture).
This is the same for all scenery areas.

Sorry - OK I have renamed them Scenery & Texture
I am still left with the error regarding Area .118
Note if I try to edit the scenery option "Canary" in the Scenery library I get the message "Parameter Wrong" - Is this a pointer to my issue I wonder

Try deleting the Canary entry from the Scenery Library. Then restart FSX & activate it again.

It's working - I have loads of lovely scenery. I can't thank you enough Hagar. This has revolutionized my flight experience. Thanks for your patience.

You do not have something correct as that is what these error messages are telling you that the path is incorrect.
Adding new scenery can be a real pain sometimes
If you have all ready activated the addon scenery folder than the easy way to add the new files would be to simply put the scenery files in the addon scenery sub-folder and the textures in the addon texture sub-folder
there is no need to make any extra folders.
Of course most people like to put there scenery into folders with a meaningful name as you have done. So what you have to do here is with FSX running go to the addnew scenery section you than have to select addon scenery and than the folder of the new scenery and then click on the sub-folder scenery and click OK that should do the trick.
Myself I just put any new scenery inside of the addon scenery folder and than inside the sub-folder scenery. and that is all there is to do. When you start up FSX it will automatically add the new scenery. Kind of the lazy mans way but it works.
Of course you can also place the new scenery inside of the regular scenery folder if you want you just have to make sure you put it in the sub-folder called scenery and sub=folder called texture
