Ai aircraft anomalies

Postby Dave T » Mon Jun 06, 2016 3:39 am

I get quite a few of these funny ai aircraft scenarios when looking through the ai aircraft in Fsx by selecting new view, aircraft and then using the A key to cycle through the views. I don't come across them when flying normally in the sim.

It can be fun to see what the ai aircraft are upto in the sim.

Are you flying AI aircraft?
AI aircraft are not supposed to be used as aircraft so that is more than likely why the problem exists
All AI aircraft are designed strictly for use as AI and never to be flown
so stop flying AI aircraft and do not worry about wing views in AI aircraft
Looks like a case of split personality

No all down to the computer the plane I was flying was sat on the runway Waddington. The planes are strictly ai aircraft and under the computers control and I stumbled across them using the dropdown menu new view and selecting one of the aircraft on the list and cycling through them using the A key and so have nothing to do with me.

I have seen quite a few of those as I was waiting for clearance at San Francisco, I saw a couple of planes on approach that were so close, I would not follow that close on the highway much less on approach. In some cases I think whoever made some of the WoA packages doubled the input for certain flights when they were added. In other cases they are from different airlines and a different model altogether, I think that is more of a FSX problem stacking that close, and in those cases I saw one get a go around command and the trailer went around.

My guess is that you are running your AI traffic settings at max. I've seen a lot of AI flying tight formations, but never one merged with another. That's a new, and novel, one.

I turned the ai settings down when I reinstalled the Ai global ships package overwriting my original install of the separate parts but no other Ai installed on this laptop. Just the normal default ai traffic in FSX.

I have never done that so who knows why the issue. It still could have something to do with AI aircraft are not designed to be used that way so no proper wing views were set up.
Bottom line is I would not loose any sleep over it. After all these are just AI aircraft and who really cares if there is a problem like this.
