B777-300ER FMC

Postby michaleen » Sat Apr 16, 2016 10:37 pm

Hi All,
I have just installed the latest B777 with a full working FMC. However following the FMC notes, I cant input any data into the FMC ie; Gate, Flight Level, etc or change or modify the route to reflect the SID'S and Stars.
The flight plan loads OK from FSX. The FMC operates OK as per the Route set in the FSX flight planner. I dont seem to have the thick cursor under index (key L6) scratch pad as depicted in the note diagram of the FMC.
Also when I fire up FSX, on the opening page I get a message "Java has not been located on your computer, do you want to download it" even tho I have Java installed. Could this be related to above problem????
Any help, as always, is most apprediated.

Hi

1st question - are you inputting on the VC (I am not sure that's possible) or from the pop out FMC available via Views/Instrument panel?

Hi There,
I input the FMC from the instrument selection or from the FMC icon on the cockpit view. Same result. I havnt tried to us the FMC on the VC view and, as you say, not sure if thats possible

There are two JAVA runtimes: the 32-bit and 64-bit versions. I bet you only have the 64-bit versions installed, and as a result 32-bit programs will report that JAVA cannot be found. You don't need to remove the 64-bit version, just install the 32-bit JAVA, then re-test.

Thanks very much, 32 bit did the trick. Still have same problem of in-putting data to FMC tho.
