Joystick Button Assignments

Postby Plugpenny » Sun Jan 31, 2016 9:34 am

Lo All!

I've an x52 Saitek HOTAS. I assign commands to buttons and axis on the stick and throttle thru the FSX Control Setup screen. I fly a flight or three then close the sim. When I start the sim again the custom command setup is gone and replaced with the FSX default commands.

Is there a way to "Save" a particular configuration? I fly the same type of aircraft all the time. I just like the Cessna Grand Caravan. I set up my buttons and such to fly it. It is a pain to have to go thru and set up the whole shebang every session.

Thanks,

I'm assuming that you're clicking on the OK button.

Are you getting some kind of an error code after you hit OK?

If so, then the assignment probably isn't being saved.

And, error or no, it's probably not being saved due to permissions in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games".

Some people seem to have that problem while others do not.

Try right clicking & running FSX as administrator first.

I agree with Oldairmail.
Had the same problem ages ago and running FSX as "administrator" sorted it.
I also use the X52

Thanks for the help.

I am clicking the OK button.

I will try to run FSX in As Administrator.

If that works, you can right click on the icon and set it to always "run as admin".
