Scenery fouled after Addit Pro download and use.

After downloading Addit Pro and using it to add a bgl file my ground textures are not all water like and very dark. I need to restore my
FSX scenery to original status..

Hi
Have you tried removing Addit Pro using the 'Add/remove' feature in windows?

That would be my 1st step.

I checked out the site for Addit Pro. The first thing you want to do is to use the program to undue the changes you made. Just uninstalling the soft ware will not restore FSX back before you made the change, as once you make a change if you do not like the change than you have to undo it. The reason for this is the fact that you have over wrote a BGL file and the only fix is to put the old one back. Now If you are lucky it made a back up of the BGL before it made changes so look to see if that is so it could have put the back up in a different folder outside of FSX.
If that is the case all you have to do is move it back and click yes to overwrite the bad BGL file. <<u

Gary

Thanks much for the info and quick reply. I will give your suggestion a try but as I have uninstalld Addit Pro and done a system restore i'm not too sure anything will be in place to get this to work. All I can do is reinstall Addit and see what happens. Otherwise I will probably have to reinstall FSX.

Thanks again

I am not sure if reinstalling it will help you as it might not see the change you made. Most of these programs keep a list of changes it made so it knows where to find to fix or undo the change and when you uninstalled it all of that went away with the program.
If you are lucky system restore will fix it but I would not be surprised if it does not
The only way to prevent things like this is to keep a backup of FSX someplace safe
The one Golden rule to follow for FSX or FS9 is to make a back up before you make any changes. it makes life easier. 8-)

I made a back-up of my old Girlfriend before I installed the new one.

It worked fine...

The new one is history now!..... ...!
