Pilotable USS Nimitz

Postby stonedferret » Fri Jan 08, 2016 4:15 pm

OK more stupid questions:
1-I have a pilotable aircraft carrier
2-AICARRIERS 2 also installed - It works properly, can set fleet at waypoints etc etc
3-How do i get the pilotable ship in a body of water to be able to access it - Do i do it through AICARRIERS?

This is my first foray into boats, so i am a little out of my depth-pun implied.

Any help will be more than helpful. :D :D :D

I used to turn off crash detection and stick my boats on a runway close to sea level. I went into maps, click on it and drag it over the ocean. Might be some easier way but that's how I did it.

If you want it as an AI Carrier, you have to create a "sim" config entry using the Nimitz in the AI Carriers folder and an AI folder in Sim Objects "Boats". I'm away from my home PC (Finally got it back!), so I can't present a proper example, but if you open the AI Carriers folder, you should be able to fine the right files to use as an example for the config, and look at some of the AI ships in the FSX Sim Object "Boats" folder to create the AI Object.

If you want to just "fly it", the previous post is the way to go.

In FS9 this works, should be OK for FSX:

There are seaplane docks around the sim, I forget how to locate, but look around the menus, load the carrier at one of them.

OR

Take off in a plane with pontoons, land it anywhere you like, and then select the carrier like you would select any other aircraft.

You can save the flight and re-access easily.
