Postby coreservers » Mon Oct 26, 2015 2:46 pm

Hi there

Now got the system beefed up.... running an AMD Fx 8320 8 core processor, 8gb ram and an HD 5870 1.5 gb card. Win 10 ultimate 64 bit.

Soo the challenge is, and I hope this great forum can assist, I want advice, links etc to the best freeware scenery UK mainly. for flights. the best settings for this system, thanks in advance. and looking forward to re-engaging and posting heaps of screenies

Happy to be back!

thanks for the above.
However I have tried to install both biggin hill and duxford.
both as administrator, and neither appears in sim, or as an option in addon scenery. any ideas?

Have you managed the technique of successfully downloading and installing any add-on scenery for FSX before?

Paul.

The Biggin hill & Duxford scenery
Go to scenery library /add area/soarfly concept scenery/Biggin hill scenery double click you will see scenery & texture file click ok then click on blank spot to add scenery to library. Do the same for Duxford add on scenery/acg iwm Duxford fsx & acg iwm Duxford airshow addon do the same as above and add to library. If you liked the Bigginhill scenery search for Soarfly on Simviation.

The Biggin hill scenery installs to its own folder inside fsx -Soarfly concept scenery/Biggin Hill in Fsx main folder and the Duxford scenery installs to the addon scenery folder Acg iwm Duxford fsx and Acg iwm Duxford airshow addon. Clicking in the blank spot to add to library is a W7 anomaly and important step in adding to the library. Fozzers link above will help you. Check to see if the ACG DUXFORD FILES ARE IN THE ADD ON SCENERY FOLDER FSX AND SOARFLY SCENERY CONCEPTS IS IN THE MAIN FSX FOLDER IF THEY ARE IN THE CORRECT FOLDER ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS ADD THEM TO THE SCENERY LIBRARY WATCH FOZZERS LINK IT WILL EXPLAIN WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO WINDOWS7.

Follow these steps
1. START FSX
2. CLICK ON SETTINGS
3. CLICK ON SCENERY LIBRARY
4. CLICK ADD AREA
5. SCROLL DOWN TO SOARFLY CONCEPTS SCENERY AND DOUBLE CLICK ON IT
6. DOUBLE CLICK ON BIGGIN HILL
7. YOU SHOULD SEE TO FILES SCENERY & TEX CLICK OK
8. LEFT CLICK ONCE UNDERNEATH TEX IN WHITE AREA
YOU SHOULD NOW HAVE ADDED BIGGIN HILL TO THE SCENERY LIBRARY.

ADDING DUXFORD
DO STEPS 1-4
5. SCROLL DOUBLE CLICK ADDON SCENERY
6. DOUBLE CLICK ACG DUXFORD FSX
DO STEPS 7 & 8
DUXFORD SHOULD NOW BE ADDED TO LIBRARY

DO THE SAME WITH ACG DUXFORD AIRSHOW SCENERY HOPE THIS HELPS DAVE.

When you have installed and added to the library Bigginhill should look like this viewtopic.php?f=42&t=173447 and Duxford like this viewtopic.php?f=42&t=173454 with the airshow part enabled.
