auto installers

A work around for auto installers that will only extract to default location.

Create a folder desktop
copy and paste these 4 files
FS9.exe/FS2000.exe/FS2002.exe/fsx.exe
located C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X
This works for me because I like to install manually and you don't overwrite anything else plus you know what files have been installed also works similarly in fs9.

I am not quite sure if this will work in all cases. as the auto installer will still look for the files in the default location. the only around this would be to rename the files in the default folder before using the auto installer I do not have either FSX or FS9 installed in the default location as this is the best way to run either of these programs. They are not even anywhere on my C drive. The advantage of having multiple hard disks. A lot of store bought computers do not give you any place to hang another hard drive except for externally and than I prefer USB 3.0 or the device is going to be slow.

I have used this method and a similar method for fs9 when you try and install to another folder and you get the error message FS9 or FSX not found hope this helps windows xp/windows 7.
