Bill is a really smart guy and, as usual, got it right. I'll just add an alternative solution that I've used for years...
After you've located the scenery file you want to add into the Look In dialog box at the top of the scenery entry screen, the Directory box at the bottom of the screen will look something like this (depending on how you have your sim set up):
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Folder (e.g., Addon Scenery)\Airport KXXX (for example)
Removing the specific airport (in this case) folder and clicking on Enter will have the same effect as Bill's procedure and the airport will be captured:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Folder (e.g., Addon Scenery)
Not quite as elegant, perhaps, but it confirms what I expect to see entered into the Scenery.cfg file.
Actually, my favorite method is a little app called SceneryConfigEditor. It does take a bit more more effort but I find it's many features very useful, in particular that it can be used without opening FSX.
Just some ideas to get you thinking about different ways to this cat.
