Can't save missions any more

I little while ago my computer, or the FSX programme, developed a very irritating fault. Whenever I fly a mission and want to save it under way (for lack of time, or before a difficult stage, etc.), I don't get the dialogue box "Save Mission" any more, but instead "Save Flight". I have reinstalled FSX (twice), changing its location from the default one to plain C:\FSX, and also verified that I have full permissions for what I suppose are the relevant folders.
Has anyone experienced this problem, and more important, solved it?

I don't recall ever seeing a "Save Mission" box, just "Save Flight". Even when flying one of the default missions, it says "Save Flight". Are you check marking the "save as default" box on the lower left?

I must have been under a spell for some time now, missing that the dialogue box says "Flight" but is used for saving the missions as well.

P.S. At least I got FSX reinstalled in the process, which cannot be an altogether bad thing...
