Thanks again guys for your input. It looks like it is, in fact, a problem with the files themselves. I'm not smart enough to fix them so it looks like a payware version for me... It's the only "real life" plane that I have flown so I do want to have a good working model for FSX.

After some investigations, the only way I've found for improving the cockpit of this plane is to install a better 2D panel from a FS2000 Carenado Tomahawk (the model of this plane dont work in FSX), that is here:

http://simviation.com/1/search?submit=1&keywords=tomahaw2.zip&x=17&y=11

You have the plane in "your FSX"\SimObjects\Airplanes\Piper Tomahawk, so proceed as follows (don't hesitate to ask in case of doubt):

1- Download the plane (Piper Tomahawk CC-PAL) and extract it.
2- Copy (extract all the gauges into the panel folder of Piper Tomahawk CC-PAL.
3- In your FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\Piper Tomahawk, make a backup of the original panel (rename it).
4- Copy the panel made in step 2- to Piper Tomahawk.

At this stage you have a 2D panel only, but with multiple views and also a VC but with no gauges and the infamous square, in this case in black.

In order to have a better view os the VC when cycling views, you can restore the original (the square problem will be the same as in the original):

5- Copy the gauge PA38.gau from the original panel to the new panel.
6- Add the following text to panel.cfg after :

// Panel Configuration file
// Chincul PA-A-38 Tomahawk

A lot of these textures problems occur in one of other of FSX standard and FSX Acceleration (or with SP1 & 2 installed). Often it's ok in FSX standard but not FSX A or with service packs installed.

Which do you have?

Lights on (press L) -- then lights off (L again) - fixed it for me. FSX Acceleration. dx10 preview not ticked.

Thanks Pete,

I have unistalled this plane, my posts were in order to investigate this problem as well helping dpeters95 using this plane and not buying one for 30$.
IMO, the best of this plane is use it in 2D panel using the Carenado FS2000 panel.

I'm not sure if I can upload this plane (modified by my) here because I want to respect all authors.

papituwall, wow, thanks for the "how to". Really appreciated! I just saw it because I was performing a 10 minute update to my computer that took 2 days! :-)
Yes, this is a much better view of the 2D cockpit.

Thank you!

Pete, yes, that is the only way I have found to get rid of the big square during the day (L - On, L - Off). Not a big deal but I'm still not crazy about the tinted windows.

I'm not trying to pick on the developer because it's something I can't do and the price is certainly right! It doesn't seem to be a problem at dawn, dusk or night but still the lights sort of washout the interior view. The whole lighting thing seems to need a little work.

Thanks for your efforts.
