If you plan on keeping both version I strongly suggest that you rename the FSx cfg file of the version that you are not going to run. You can not move this file to another folder as FSX will use the CFG file that is present in its normal place no matter which version you start up.

Mine didn't do this. My Steam named my steam config 'fsx_se.cfg'.

So any changes you made to the FSX CFG File will be lost, such as NOT allowing Brakes, and Views in the upper corner to show, along with anything else.

Be nice if they told users that the new version will NOT make its own CFG File, guess that's asking a bit much from some of these supposed programmers who write and program these Technical Electronic Gizmo's

Your just supposed to auto-matically somehow know that stuff , you should be able to read minds and see thru the Mystery's magically

sometimes I get really tired of messing with this stuff

They took the time to tell ya all about how great it was and Hype it up, but can't tell users upfront in some kind of bulletin file to catch your attention so users won't lose how they have their sim customized.

Dunno' guess I'm just Stupid :? :? :D

This could be the case now but I know for a fact that it used my Microsoft version of fsx cfg because when I started the steam edition I got the old Aircraft initialization error because it was trying to load the default aircraft that I use in the Microsoft version and because it creates its own folders it could not find it as the aircraft is not a default aircraft, I reported this as a problem and they more than likely made the change you stated. I uninstalled the steam version as I did not like some of the textures it was using.
