Trying to fly a B777 even on a computer without first mastering something simpler like a Cessna 172 is like trying to drive a F1 car without ever driving any car before.

Have you tried simply turning on the auto-rudder in realism settings?
or setting a pair of keys to be the rudder controls ( Ex: Z = yaw left, plane turns to the left, X = yaw right, plane turns to the right )

You'll have to excuse the old-bees here, sometimes they get carried away. Maybe they should be carried away all the time. But hey, this is where we all go to get carried away from everything else that's trying to carry us away.

OK, well, I/we assume you're talking about the 'rudder'. I have noticed, in general, and I might not have my joystick on full realism, but that's the way I like it, that upon takeoff, with my twist stick, the rudder is active, but in flight,
it is not. But read the posts here (well, some of them, anyway), there's more information. It might be the realism settings.

If you don't yet have a joystick, get one. That's the way to fly.

As a final note on; "Getting the tail to move left and right", I suspect that one or two (or more) of us are most curious to know what method the OP is using to control his Boeing 777 Jumbo Passenger Jet, both on the ground and up in the air?

QWERTY keyboard only?
Non-Twist Joystick?
Twist Joystick?
Yoke?
Pedals?
Yoke and Pedals?
Joystick and Pedals?
A combination of the above, together with the QWERTY keyboard?
The power of thought only?

I think its now time that we all need to know the OP's method of controlling the massive 777 beast, to be able to offer any advice, or assist any further in this frustrating, tail-wagging subject..... :? ...!

Paul....I pilot my trusty Star-Fighter through space, in my sleep at nights, using only the power of thought.... :) ...!

shj92922. You still haven't given us the most important information. Which controller are you using?

Have you checked to see if the Yaw Damper is off? That will seem to make the Rudder appear to not move, although sitting n the ground, it may wobble back and forth a lot, especially if there's a surface wind.

Just a simple thought, all I seem to come up with compared to all these other brainiacs... :D

Aha, the dreaded mouse...

1. Place mouse on mouse pad, facing away from you
2. Hold tip of tail gently with fingertips
3. Etc....

(The passengers appear to be slightly alarmed?).... :? ...!

Time to rush out to the Computer shop and purchase a suitable; "Twist Joystick" methinks.... ;) ...!
