Righto, the mesh is finished. I was a little out in the estimate, the total size in 9 files is about 1.62GB. It will take some time as I upload at only 30K.
Down to the details, the mesh was produced from 1" SRTM data that was released at the end of 2011 by the Aussie Gumbyment. It is the smoothed variety and has the vegetation removed but not buildings or powerlines. The DSM is unavailable as is higher resolution LIDAR.
Why should you use my mesh? Well it's free and it's the highest resolution Australian mesh available.

I know the pics are a bit bit, but it is a big product.
It has also got me wondering just how these meshes are sized, I find the claim of 76m and 38m etc a bit strange as 2.5" and 1.3" dem is not readily available if at all.
These were all made with LOD = Auto and I used Tas as a test bed as it was the smallest and quickest. With LOD = Auto, resampler produced a bgl file with 4092 cells and 30MB. I then used LOD = 10 and the file was produced with about 3000 cells (I didn't finish rendering this file), I switched to LOD = 11 and this file was produced with over 11,000 cells and weighed in at more than 60MB. Interestingly though the terrain detail was identical to the first file. My point being if one tries to up-sample the dem with the SDK then the only thing up-sampled is the file size.
Anyhow in a previous life I produced over 400 dem derived maps and one may wish to have a gander at them here.
Thank you for looking and enjoy your day.
Cheers
