Ok thank you I have uninstalled it so I'm guessing you choose where to put it when Windows gives you an option when you are reinstalling where to put it thank you I will let you know the results :)

You got it!.... ...!

And being a brand NEW installation, hopefully you wont experience the problems that you had before!

Sometimes, its nice to start from scratch again!... :D ...!

Paul...you cant beat a good-old scratch!.... ...!

Note: Crashes and various errors on a Tower/Desktop PC sometimes indicates overheating problems. Make sure that your Laptop is well ventilated when you use it. FSX inserts a heavy load on the computer hardware!

Hi sorry to bother you again I have installed FSX but when I'm activating it and it says please wait while it activates online it just keeps on saying connecting for ages. I have cancelled it and reactivated it but it just says connecting and stays like that for ages!! If you have a solution it will be very appreciated. Thank you :)

Have you reinstalled Service packs 1 and 2... as well as FSX?
Reactivating FSX with Administrator Rights allowed?

Some tips here...>>> http://support.microsoft.com/kb/960481

Paul.... :D ...!

Google: "Reactivating FSX".

FSX will run in the default location but the problem is third party programs is when you can run into problems.
So as long as you do not install third party programs chances are you will never have a problem. But most of us wind up adding some thing to FSX and than you start having problems.
Scenery or aircraft that use a installer to put the scenery or aircraft in the correct place are a good example of third party programs.
And trust me it will not make a difference weather you have full privileges or not there is a good chance it will not work.

Well, you could get into problems activating the new FSX install
If you search, you'll see a lot of questions combined to exactly that problem!!
Microsoft related to this, on a standard 1 to 5, i give 0.1

Its been a year or so since I re-installed my copy of FSX on my new, replacement computer, and I cant recall having a problem activating it over the Internet after including my FSX licence details shown on the Jewel Case.

From what I can remember, it seemed to work OK... :o ...!

Paul....I get re-activated every morning when I get out of bed.... ...!

After I built my current system (see signature) I had to buy the Gold edition as I could not install my original version Because it was for a 32 bit system and now have a 64 bit OS.

I have not had any problems But I do have it installed on a Hard drive that does not have my Operating software on it. I have 1 extra internal 1 TB hard drive and 1 External USB 3.0 1 TB hard drive
So I now have a total of 3 hard drives.
