Help weather problem :S

Postby Ant87 » Sat Jun 21, 2014 6:59 am

Hi,

I've developed an issue with my weather and I have no idea whats going on. Randomly when I am in cruise the wind speed will start counting up until until 42knots then reset to 0 and start counting up again every 30 seconds this then continues no matter what altitude even when I'm on the ground. I use REX weather but if I turn rex off n set weather to clear skies the problem continues. I have no idea what so ever what is causing it.

Has anybody ever experienced this or know what I can do?
Thanks

Who knows this is just one of the reason that do not use the real world weather.
I use a weather program called Active Sky Evolution just for the reason you mention.
Of course there are other weather programs out there and any one of them is by far better than what came with FSX.
The weather program that comes with FSX is not all that good. There are times when it is unavailable
Invest a few dollars and get a weather program. One of the things I like about ASE is it is constantly updating as you go. It also allows you to put weather in your flight plans so the weather will change as you go just like in the real world. ASE will down load weather from the closet station you are near at the time. Jeppsen does not come close to this at all. But for free it is better than nothing.

Well, i dont know, but Gary is right on one thing. FSX weather is crap!
Never used any payware weather, but i do use FSrealWX lite (freeware)
http://fsrealwx-lite.software.informer.com/1.0/
in FSX and REX4, and i must say, i'm very sastisfied on the weather updates when flying.

I would be careful using the above link as it wants to install a program you might not want.

It wanted to install 7zip for starters. I did not let it go any further.
I got nailed when I down loaded a file from CNET you used to be able to trust files from them. But after that magilla I watch everything I download.
It installed tool bars and a few other nu sense programs.
It took me a few hours getting rid of all the junk.
Even when downloading ADOBE Flash Player You have to make sure to uncheck the box to install CHROME and make it you default browser.

I know, Gary, i know.
I scan every dl i get for Malware and virus, and i look closely on every page any install shows, so i can uncheck any unwanted stuff which has been included!
The problem is, if you're not able to do that, you are in for some work. CNet has been a closed area for my dl's in a long time.

From what I have seen it appears that a lot of companies are using sponsors to help pay for there bandwidth and have to include such programs as part of the agreement. And to make matters worse is some of these companies are using tricky wording so you have to read every sentence. as you said failure to do so can create all kinds of havoc. if you are lucky all you get is a unwanted tool bar but it can also change your home page and open up all kinds of unwanted web pages.
Getting rid of some of this stuff can be time consuming to say the least.
