Mil MI-24V

FSX including FSX Steam version.

Mil MI-24V

Postby fanton » Mon Jun 02, 2014 11:13 am

Hi there,

I've just installed the "FSX-version" of the Mil MI-24, one of my favourite choppers with FS9. Unfortunately, FSX (Gold Edition, SP2) regularly crashes when I load this fine helicopter. I have replaced all possibly incompatible gauges, applied the GPS-fix and still can't use the chopper properly.
Any ideas out there?

Hi Fanton, please tell me WHICH Mi-24 you've downloaded and try to fly.

Cheers, hertzie.

Hi Fanton,

if it is the version by Tim Conrad, it may be a problem with the gaugesound.dll, which is either missing or not correctly installed.

The dll must be present in the FS main directory, or you will have a CDT when you load the bird.

I hope I could help,

Hi,
Thank you very much - I installed the missing dll (should have read the readme file) and the CTD is gone! There is one issue remaining - the engine sound keeps cycling from start-up sounds to quiet throbbing again and again. This is not reflected in the gauges, rpm and power stay constant, it is just the annoying background noise. I have reactivated the old sound.cfg which has a much simpler set of sounds but stays constant at least.
My version is Tim Piglet Conrad's FS 2004 Hind, updated for FSX by the Nor-Cal Prop Club.
