777 engine restart in flight problem

Postby Thudchief » Mon Mar 10, 2014 6:13 pm

Here's the problem: I successfully fly my project Opensky 777 for hours and hours. I save the mission, then go back and fly for more hours. Then out of the blue, I pick up where I left off and the engines shut off. Worse, the engines can't be re-started. I get the prompt to start the engine (ctrl-e). I hit Ctrl-e and surprise the fuel control switch shifts to "cutoff" making things worse. The ground approacheth. Next, I hit ctrl-shift-F$ to get the valve to the run position and the engine still doesn't start. Then I hit ctrl-e and the fuel control switch again switches to cut off. At this point in this exercise in futility my 777 hits the ground.

Any help would be appreciated. I suspect the cause of all this is operator error! ^-^

Start your simulator with the default aircraft like the boeing 747, and flip the fuel cut-offs to open position and start that aircraft. Then switch to your 777 all should be good to go now. If that doesn't do it you need to assign a repair key(s) for your battery and etc. to your button and keys controls in your settings.

It seems that certain 3rd party aircraft if you power them down, or do anything to them will effect the default aircraft. To correct a lot of the times you need to load a default aircraft 1st and restart your engines there, then switch to your 3rd party aircraft.

Normally, the first steps in the "ctrl-e" start sequence is to make sure everything is in "cold-n-dark" configuration. This means shutting off the fuel taps/switches, Avionics, Battery, Generator, and Main switches, etc. After it does all that, it begins the actual start sequence. And on multiengine aircraft it can take a few seconds for it to get everything shut down before the restart begins.

You can either try waiting it out or seeing if you can do the start proceedures from the checklists manually.

Don't know if this will help at all or not...
