TWO PC's To Run FSX

Postby Hestntonpms » Sat Feb 08, 2014 8:20 pm

I have a question i hope I am putting it in the right place as it is sort of a hardware question but it is also a FSX question .
I was wondering is anyone out there knows if there is a way to use two PC's to run FSX.
It seems impossible to me because I do not know how they could both read/write at the same speed and time to one screen?
but there may be someone out there that has the answer and maybe they have figured out a way to do it ?

I have an extra very capable PC with video card just acting as a paper weight I'd love to use if I could .

Single GTX Titan 6gig GPU/ extreme air cooled

1 T/B -Raid-0 array,Risking it all for every ounce of performance until I go with SSD's

go to YOU TUBE,,, and search that user FROOGLE SIM and ask him, that guy is fairly knowledgable on a lot of this FSX Computer sim flight simulation stuff,,, and he's older not like you'd be asking some 13 yr.old with a wild imagination and get some Fantasical Illusionary response.

Froogle Sim on YOU TUBE : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wHB7l_SxvEg&list=UUCcyPyTfN8LEVHQojHkR-aA&feature=c4-overview

maybe ?? he can help you !!!

Thank you Jetranger, I did watch the video and it answered a lot of questions I had about the subject.
It is possible to do and exactly what I was hoping . . . . that is so crazy !
Now to set it up which will not be easy :)

Think you'd better message FROOGLE SIM and get in depth discussion with him, so he can give you some deeper insight and tricks, so you don't get Frustrated , if it doesn't work quite right,,, I've heard of it being done, but, that was like 4 years ago and I can't even remember who, where it was,, back then it sounded overly complicated for my pea size brain - so - I didn't follow it any further.

Yea, in his video he asks not to message him though on how to set it up, he specifically asks, do not ask me, I can not help you, I do not have the time , which I can understand completely, I can get it figured out though, he answers the basics which give me a very decent base in which to work with so I appreciate that.

Check FSXGENIUS in youtube. His name is Matt. His area of speciality is helping people setup their flight sim systems with FSX

Hello
I run fsx on two computers sort of.
FSX is on one computer with one 46" screen. It is linked to another computer through widefs.
This one runs Fightsim Commander, Google earth and a flight log.

Ok you have my curiosity going here. Why would you want to use two computers to run FSX? what if anything would you gain by doing so?
It seems to me that this would be slower because of how the two systems talk to each other. :? :?:

Hi

I run a similar setup like Bigcav mentioned. First PC FSX with FSUIPC and second PC with WideFS. After this is connected I use
FSrealWX as weather generator. http://www.fsrealwx.net/. I have REX3, which gives me fantastic textures, but used on the same system always gives me some stutters when injecting weather. I further use Plan-G on the second PC. Sometimes I also open a manual on the second PC to go through startup procedures etc on the sim. Before I always had to switch tasks.

What I wonder, is it possible to share the sim on two PC. Would it be possible to have a second machine running FSX with AI traffic and no player aircraft and connect both as multiplayer to get the AI traffic calculated by the second computer. Did somebody ever tried this? I wonder if AI traffic is transferred by multiplayer at all. I fear, only the player aircraft data is transferred.
