A32x won't start

Postby Russell Irwin » Wed Feb 05, 2014 10:35 pm

After recently redownloading (and downloading liveries, and all that other fun stuff), I've come to actually flying my A32x series from Project Airbus, only to find out that the A318, A319, and A320's engines won't start. While I do get battery power, the engines won't spin up enough to start them (N1=10, N2=22.5, EGT=300 at most). I don't know what I'm missing; everything was downloaded straight from Project Airbus's links.

In case this is an issue, I have:
Project Airbus A32x with FSX-native models
Default A321 VC
Stefan Liebes gauges

Dell Inspiron 15R
2.1 GHz (don't judge; I'm on a budget)
8GB ram
750Gb HDD
Intel integrated video card (not sure of exact specs)

Are you using the control E sequence to start the engines with :?:
Check out the throttle panel and make sure the switch is set to on.
Try opening the throttle panel before you try to start engines and check to see if the switches are turning on.
Another thing you can try is to use any default aircraft and start the engines than switch aircraft to the A318 it should come up with the engines running. If not something is rotten in china as they say.If so press control F1 this will shut down all engines. After they have stopped retry to start the engines using control E.
I have a payware aircraft that you can not use control E to start the engines but I doubt if this falls into that category.

Why don't you download them from simviation? I have tried a bunch without any problems (I nearly always check PA uploads out because people make little errors with configs etc which are easily corrected before approval)

Thanks for the help, everyone. It turns out that the problem was actually in the panel itself- the ignition switches on the pedestal would not engage properly, keeping the engines from starting.

I have since switched to Amar's (?) panel and don't have the problem any more. In fact, this was the panel that I was using before my hard drive crash.
