Should I roll back the driver to the previous version, and what about 4.5 ?

Any help is appreciated!

I don't know. For now I'm running fsx in DX10 mode. I'll get back to you when I have time to experiment with rolling back.

Hi folks, 1st a correction, EasterHops 1st mentioned the blackscreen problem, but it was nnd861 who brought up the Net4.5 issue, so thanks for that info nnd816.

As far as using directX 10, I got the spikey graphics when I tried to use it, so I didn't think to try FSX with it on when the black screen problem started. But either way, once I updated the ADM to 13.9, and installed Net 4.5, before I even tried using FSX, my monitor would just shut down by itself. When I was web searching, watching videos, and I should have mention, that when I played my other games the screen would go black, but with no error message. It was just the monitor shutting down. I went thru the error logs and there was nothing there. When the monitor shut down, I had to turn off the PC with the power button, and when it started back up, I got the ; Windows didnot shut down sucessfully, blah blah blah, and I got the prompts to start widows normally or in the safe modes. I started windows normally, and it came back on ok, but like I said 10 - 30 mins later the monitor would shut down again. so like afew of you mention, could be a bad graphics card? And what I found searching maybe a bad monitor. So when I changed out monitors, still the same problem. Was able to roll back the ADM driver, but no help. Than, I started working with Netframework. Untill I was able to get rid of Net 4.5 and get back Net 4.0, I have been having no problems. ADM rolled back to 13.1 and Net 4.0 everything works just as good before this problem. FSX flys great, and I'm able to watch videos, and play my other games with no problems. Curious to know if anyone who has Net 4.5 installed running Nivida is having a problem, or if its an ADM thing? Can't seem to find the answer from ADM or MS and only getting mumbo gumbo searching.

I'm back! Been away from the computer since last week. I think it's an AMD thing, with Net 4.5. It happened exactly when I did the Windows update.

I won't have time to get rid of Net 4.5 till next week, is it as simple as deleting a program through the CP, and do I need to run a reg cleaner after?

I'm no expert, but I believe you have to roll back your video driver too.

Well,

I had time but I wish I didn't.

I rolled back the driver, uninstalled Net4.5, and now I get the blue screen.

I can't even update anything because the Windows Installer is missing.

I can start in safe mode but that's as far as I can get. Sys restore is off, so I can't go back that way either.

Now what?

Not good, but if you can start in safe mode, there is hope!

As i see it, you got a bad program preventing win to start normal.

Load on safe mode, run a full virus check, run a full malware check. (If you can load safe mode with net, download Malwarebytes) and run it.

If these programs dont find anything, you need to boot with win cd and make a repair.

Nope, ran it - no fix. I can't access updates due being in safe mode, and no Window Install being present, but the file actually is. I'm pretty confident I didn't intentionally delete a file there, no reason to go there, that far in the Windows files.

I have a b/u on an external drive, I'm wondering where to start there. :?

I did find this however....a little too late.

Nothing is too late, if you still are alive! Remember that ;)

This IS maybe too late, but stay away from any beta drivers! They are sometimes made by "morons", who want their name published!
Also, they are made by established manufactories to get feedback on problems involved inside the beta drivers!

Do you mean with b/u that you have a security copy of your main drive?

No beta! ;) This was to be a "normal" update, never had an issue before.

I b/u'd the computer about 3 weeks ago to an external HD, I looked at it briefly it has that back up and an windows image from some time ago.

Ok, more....

So now I find that Windows Installer is "stopped" in services, and if I right click it to start it says I can't do that in safe mode.

So if it goes to the BSOD, and I can only start in safe mode how in @$@# can I start it?

Oh, a simple backup wont help you. When you have a slave or an external hd, you need to make a security copy of the main drive inside windows (controlpanel/system and security). Do this when win and programs are running perfect. I do it every months, then i(sometimes) can remember what i've installed since last!

Seems to me that some crusial win services, in some way, are messed up. My next move then would be a win cd repair to see if it helps

YAY!

I finally got time to go to my b/u external and imaged from about a month ago....I'm away from technology at home during the w/e. Just needed some time to do it.

All looks good so far. Updating as "necessary"

I'll try a flight, and see what happens.

Thanks for all the help!

Just an update on my issue:

I just bought the VRS Tacpack for the superbug, and some features (FLIR and NVG) won't run on dx10 preview mode. Missing out, I decided to take the time and downgrade my drivers. I set a restore point and rebooted in safe mode. The new old drivers are now installed and FSX works without DX10 mode on.
