Ok this is strange...
So, if I understood you correctly, here is what happened until now:
- you installed FSX in C:\FSX\
- you installed FTX Demo, and it worked
- you checked the AppPath value, and it was pointing to c:\FSX\, correctly.
- you moved the FSX folder somewhere else
- you tried to click on the desktop/start menu item to launch FTX Central, and it didn't work anymore
- you moved back FSX to c:\FSX\
- you tried again to launch FTX Central from the shortcuts on the desktop, and it STILL didn't work.

So...
When I check on my computer (I have FTX PNW complete, not the demo), the shortcuts on the desktop (right-click -> properties) are pointing towards d:\Flight Simulator X\ORBX\Scripts\.
This is where my FSX and PNW were installed.

I guess that when you clicked on FTX Central after moving FSX away, the link couldn't find its target, and pointed to a default place instead.
Most likely, if you manually navigate to your c:\FSX\ORBX\Scripts\ folder, you will find the various files in there, and you will be able to launch them. You will simply have to "update" the links on your desktop so that they refer to the correct folder again.

When i moved fsx, i deleted all shortcuts cause i know they dont work.
Then i tried to launch ftx central directly from the moved orbx/scripts folder, but that didn't show up correctly. It pointed itself to the stock install path and could not be changed!
Thats why i put fsx into microsoft games.
I'm sure you are right about some ftx strange behaviour inside registry. (I did a reg clean before i moved from D to C again).

Well, things are working as usual now, no lost anywhere, but i surely is not done with investigating this issue, yet.
Thanks Daube for your time, and i'll report back if i find anything ;)

(Note: I have a full copy of fsx on my D drive and a fsx.cfg backup to that install, so i'll try to get that running too)
