Crash to desktop on stock FSX

Postby MaverickSawyer » Wed Aug 14, 2013 3:20 pm

I just installed FSX today, and haven't added anything to it yet, but I keep running into a crash to desktop situation. Oddly, though, it's only during the missions... Any ideas?

The thought springs to mind....

Following your new installation of FSX...Have you downloaded and installed Service Packs 1 & 2 for FSX?

The "Missions" may require them to be in place?

Paul...FS 2004...(and FSX).... ...!

With the Sim running, click on "Help > About Microsoft Flight Simulator". It will tell you if SP 2 has been installed.

If you are using FSX Gold edition you do not need the service packs as they are part of the installation
It is only the Standard or Deluxe editions that require the service packs.
