Finally did it today. Reloaded FS9 on a different HDD, Called it Classic. No jets at all. Loaded all Cal Classic aircraft and 1950's 1960's airports. It's a gas flying the planes my dad flew back in the day. When we first came to Dallas Love Field in '52 there were DC-3's, Dc-6's & Connies on the field. Takes me back home to a more mellow time. I was 5 when we moved there, 6 hours on a DC-6 from LaGuardia to Dallas. I will never forget that flight. Guess I'm getting old, but what a great era.

Dave.....getting to be an old fart   ;D

Dave... ;)...

...sometime getting old (elderly) is nice, when you have all the experience and remembrance of wonderful times past, long, long ago!

(I can remember getting bombed by the Hun in 1940)... ;)...!

Have fun with your new version of good-old FS 2004... [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif]...!

Paul... 8-)...!

Actually we don't get old or elderly.... we just get more mature.

Growing old is inevitable.  Maturity is optional. ;)

I might just have to do a version of this on me own!

hi
Was intereted to read your comments about flying the old planes as I am in a similar situation to yourself.
Im not quite old enough to have seen piston planes flying but growing up in the early '70s near Glasgow aiirportI was lucky enough to see lots of turbo-props and early jets... even a few Russian ones.
I recently changed to fsx but dont think its that much beter...maybe the scenery is a bit better and the airports more detailed with moving vehicles.. but fsx doesnt have the vast range of add on aircraft that fs 2004 has.. I think its like the windows scandal.. just a ploy to make micro-soft more money.
If you are lookig for a good add-on i would reccomend the boeing 707 by George Carty which is available on avsim.. it has a nice panel and an inertial navigation system which is quite unusual and fun to use... also the connstellation is nice.. if a bit slow after flying jets...
Good luck luck with your landings....and remember GPS is for whimps!!! ha ha ha
