I've been "flying" mostly FSX lately, but there are a couple of aircraft that only work in FS9, so I have kept it around. I'll throw in a few payware items.
REX (for FS9) is really nice.
Ultimate Terrain USA, Canada & Alaska add different views.
Ground Environment Pro also adds a different view.
Traffic is a real nice AI add on.
American Champion Aircraft by Real Air (Citabria, Decathalon & Scout) is a high quality aircraft program which includes stunt to bush planes (for both FS9 & FSX on same disk or download. Both work great)
Cessna 162 Skycatcher by Abacus (yeah, yeah, I know... they got this right though) It's a low & slow plane but the Garmin G300 glass panel (abbreviated version of the G1000) is completely operational in FS9, but not FSX
Diamond DA 40 Star TDI also by Abacus (again, they seemed to have gotten this one right also). It's low & slow with the option of a fully functional Garmin G1000 glass panel or analog panel. Again, it's completely operational in FS9, but not FSX.
Piper PA 28 236 Dakota by Carenado is only for FS9, but looks and "flies" very nicely
Also, many of the new Carenado products have FS9 version aircraft. They are mostly single engine aircraft, but they do have some RGs, and a twin (or 2).
North American P 51 D Mustang by A2A is really nice aircraft (for FS9 & FSX on the same download).
One thing that is a bit hard to get used to (again), is that the "mixture" in FS9 has to be clicked & dragged or rolled by the mouse instead of using the mix throw on the throttle quadrant. The throttle and prop throws still work from the quadrant though. Well, you should have good push start now...
Semper Fi,
Dave

I have driven over the Columbia River Gorge multiple times. I am always blasted away looking at it. Where can I get the scenery, please?

Good evening fellow simmers. I have been away for awhile, yet lurking at the same time
...tonight I was curious to see how well my laptop would run fs9 and I was surprised and wondering why I havent tried it sooner after my gaming computer died. On that computer I was running FSX with loads of add-ons. With me out of the flight sim scene I am wondering what are the best looking and latest scenery addons and textures? I hope to soon have some pics to post that will be up to the caliber of what I use to post.
thank you in advance for all advice. 8-)

Does anyone know of any good freeware FS2004 or FSX roads? Along with any good freeware land vehicles?

There are some pretty good REX freeware roads but I don't advise you to download the Grass if so.
And there is a Lexus and Bmw and Ferrari and a few others if you look
.

I have been away for awhile. Thanks so much for this thread!! Lots of great downloads!! I tend to go with FS9 even though I do have FSX. FS9 allows for so much more in terms of editing panels, gauge selection, etc. I keep worrying about my memory usage, LOL, last time I checked I have used less that half of what is available! I am going to have to find away to deal with the number of aircraft I have as the wait time for FS9 to finish loading everything has become an issue. LOL

Can any one tell me why some downloads are so slow. I am trying to download the EC135_EXT4 and the download rate is less that 36 bpm. What the hay! As a paying member, I was under the impression that downloads would be somewhat faster. Not over an hour!!! :-/
