Must Have Addons?

Postby Ravang » Sun Jan 18, 2009 7:00 pm

I've just reinstalled FS9 on my laptop, and I haven't flown FS9 for awhile so I was wondering what are the best freeware addons for FS9, scenery, aircraft, textures....

If you could post them here it would save me a few hours of searching and downloading. ;D

1.Sky: FSskyworld 2004

2.Water: see this thread- http://205.252.250.26/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaB ... 1227579094

3.Aircraft see this thread- http://205.252.250.26/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaB ... 1230865071 (alot of payware mentioned, but some great free ones also)
and if VC's are not manditory for you, this link is for ALL of Mike Stone's airplanes in one zip file: http://fsfiles.org/PA/index.php?act=view&id=13 (127 planes in all! )

VOZ 1.8 (kinda like FTX for FS9, 600mb zip file)

Nicks light fix

There's probably a thousand more to mention, but I feel these are the most critical for what you requested.

For some seriously great scenery & planes, SeanTk is the man to ask. ;)

Enjoy! :)

What follows is my official list of my recommendations from various PM's that I have sent to people. It needs at least two entire posts in order to not go over the character count, so hold on.

..as Shane has mentioned, VOZ is one of my all time favourites for its Scenery Textures/Colours, and its amazing, colourful, "Koorby" buildings...;)...!

All of the previous is by no means meant to be comprehensive (well, kind of), but they are addons that I enjoy.

You may want to keep a link to this thread handy for the future Sean! ;D

This could potentially be one of the best lists of freeware addons for FS9 ever. ;)

Thanks, I had a lot of those files installed on my old computer before it died. I just couldn't remember what they were called, or where I found them (lost all of my bookmarked web pages too.) Thanks for the links. :D

This thread from the FAQ at the top of this board is worth checking out also, it does mention alot of what Sean has listed here, but there may be a few other tidbits in there: http://205.252.250.26/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaB ... 1116250697

Ravang, hopefully my list provided you with a few aircraft that are "off the beaten path" in cyberspace, so to speak. A few real gems in there that not many people seem to be aware of.
I of course included some of the more well known stuff in my list, but if you really look through thoroughly, I can guarantee that you will find some top quality stuff that you have never tried before!

For everything else, look through Shane's link in the post above.

I should imagine that if someone built a secret version of a secret aircraft in a secret location, Sean would have the specs available by the next day! ::)
