Hey Gent's [smiley=beer.gif]

I'm having trouble with FS9 on this computer, it some how got corrupted.
It loads to a point then says (Scenery.Cfg file error) It try's to rebuild it's self
but then is forced to shut down.

I tryed deleting and starting over, but it won't let me delete in the usual
manner.

Would it be ok to delete FS9 buy just grabbing all it's folders and tossing
them in the trash can?

OOOpppsss....

No!
All the "stuff" will be left in the registry!
Always un-install!.... :o...
If you installed it to Program Files...(Default...like I always do!)..., go into the Windows Control Panel (Add/Remove programs) and un-install it from there!
or...
Re-insert Disk 1 and un-install/remove it from there!

..re-boot the computer....then re-install it again....FS 2004!

Paul...FS 2004... 8-)...!

Beware: Permanently removing FS 2004 from your computer is punishable by death most painful!...Trust me!...:o....!

As Fozzer says---painful!

Dont you have a bit older backup on fs9.
What was the scenery you installed before those problems.
A long time since i worked with fs9, but a check inside scenery.cfg's to see if the scenery numbers are correct wont harm.
About uninstalling, i always use the cd.

Good luck tho ;)

You mean you didn't re-install your FS 2004?... :o... :o...!

Shame on you!... >:(...!

That silly old FSX will do you no good, you know!... ;)..!

Paul... ;D.. ;D... ;D...!

Tip: When un-installing FS 2004, you are presented with the option to remove, or retain, your various add-on program folders....
Remember, if you retain them, be aware that some of them may contain the source of some of your original problems, so take care when reusing them!

I have FSX installed on my main HDD, but whenever I run it, it snarls at me, and threatens to bite my joystick hand... :o....

...whereas FS 2004 smiles at me, and makes me cups of Coffee whilst I pat the joystick... :-*...!

Paul,

Yes, I will try the CD deletion method first, I just have to dig through my other piles
of hobby (Stuff) to find them.

Well, i've seen a lot of plane addons to fs9 and fsx needs at scenery update, so my advice is, do one plane at the time and check the sim before going on!
2c ;)
