Hi All,

I purchased an SSD to put my FS9 install on, since I have a huge install (250 sceneries and approx 120 aircraft)

Hi Sean,

I'm assuming that you either have your FS installation backed up on an external drive or the new SSD will be in addition to your current drive. You can do what I do if I need to restore my FS, which is backed up on an external drive:

Do a fresh FS install from the original disks into a new folder on your new SSD. Then I delete all the visible folders and files in the new installation. Then just highlight, click and drag all the backed up folders and files to the new location. Reboot and fly. My understanding is that the hidden folders and files rewrite themselves when you start FS.

I've been doing it this way since I first moved FS out of C:\Program Files to its own stand-alone folder or when I screw up something.

well I think I am going to try the blow everything away and start over approach, because I have no idea how much cruft has built up over the years.  I am so not looking forward to this :)
