Glitches

Following a couple of FS9 re-installs, I now get the following two messages in sequence on start-up:

(1) "Security Warning.    The publisher could not be verified...."       Yet, the program was loaded from my original -and well guarded - FS2004 disks:

(2)  " FS has detected potentially incompatible aircraft or software......File: FSSound.dll"      I was under the impression that this file was essential for FS2004 operation.   Should I load it or not?

Moreover, on every flight, the system shuts down after 10-20 minutes running.

I would appreciate any views.

What OS have you installed?

If Win7 or Vista (no matter if 32 or 64), under what path did you install the FS9 folder?

Did you have error messages installing FS9?

Is this the only program/game that gave a problem after installing or there have been others?

You need to add the following to your FS9.cfg...

[oldmodules]
fssound.dll=1

This will stop the second warning, not sure if it will help the first.

cheers,
Joe

Thanks to both.       The 'incompatible software' warning now seems to have disappeared, but I still get the security warning on the publisher.     Very puzzling since the program was loaded from my original FS2004 disks.

Incidentally, does Microsoft still support FS2004?      I can't find any reference to it in their knowledge base.

And my programme is still shutting down with any aircraft after 40 minutes to an hour and a half.      Very frustrating, and I have no idea how to fix this problem.
