Defualt Cub and Cessna 172 repaints

I cannot for the life of me get several repaints for both of these stock aircraft to work. I followed the readmes exactly (inserting texture folders into the aircraft folder and then editing the aircraft.cfg file). Yet they will not show up. Its a long list of repaints which is why I didnt mention the specific ones.
Also, somewhere along the way of adding repaints to the stock c172 file, I managed to add another aircraft...without adding one...now when I go to the aircraft select menu there is a "Unspecified" manufacturer and it is a Cessna 172 with a stock paint scheme. I cannot find it in the aircraft file though.
On top of repaints not showing up, I back tracked and deleted all the mod repaints (leaving just stock) and re-edited to the aircraft.cfg to account for this but still when I go to select aircraft in the sim menu 3 of the repaints STILL are there!
For the Piper Cub, I added a L4 Grasshopper texture to it (again following standard procedure with textures) and again when I go the aircraft menu in the sim it does not even list it.
I have messed with this for hours and hours and have tried everything I can think of. Im out of ideas.

Can you post the aircraft.cfg entries here?
Just the [fltsim.xx] sections.
cheers,

Here is the Cub, obviously not the whole thing, I figured this part is the only part that is useful for this. The Grasshopper texture is the one I am trying to make work. Oh, yes the texture=L2 has the right texture file name...which confuses me.....

The Cessna 172 entry does not have all the re-paints I had because I deleted them, but still the issues I have said in my original post apply. The red and yellow texture wont work and I still have that "unspecified" Cessna 172 plane in my aircraft drop-down list in the sim.

The title names must be different for each repaint.

Nevermind. Fixing the titles in the aircraft cfg worked for the Cub, but still the same problem for the 172. Here is the 172 aircraft cfg with some repaints added in, I deleted the descriptions to try to keep the length of this post down.

Change flight sim 2's texture folder name.
Hope this helps

You have 2 [fltsim.6] entries.
Could the "unspecified" Cessna be from another folder?
Possibly one added as AI by an addon scenery?
cheers,
Joe

I noticed I had 2 6 entries right after I hit "post", it doesnt matter anyways, because I did correct it and still nothing. I gave up and created a seperat c172 file for both the WMU repaints, one for the CAP repaint, and one for the woodland repaint and they work just fine. So the original problem is unresolved, but I decided to go with the engineering motto: KISS! (Keep It Simple Stupid!) so I figured the simplest solution is just to have separate planes! Bingo, no problem.

Glad you have it sorted out.
FWIW, I (think I) tracked down all the textures you referenced and installed them in my sim using the text you posted in the aircraft.cfg.
I fixed the texture callout for [fltsim.2] as noted by Andy and cleaned up the duplicate [fltsim.6] issue.
All of the textures displayed OK for me.
cheers,
Joe
