Aircraft Seat Height...

Hello chums... :)...!

FS 2004:

Just a quick query!.. :)...

In some of my aircraft, when in (VC) Virtual Cockpit Mode, I often find that I am either sat too low, or too high on the seat in the Cockpit.
It can be corrected in flight by using the key combinations:
Shift + Delete = Move up.
Shift + Enter = Move down.

The trouble is, after changing views, the position generally reverts back to the design default again!... :(...!

Whereabouts, and which are the entries in the "aircraft.cfg" file, to set, and save, the preferred seat position permanently for that particular aircraft?

Many thanks!... ;)...!

Paul...with inflatable cushions!.. 8-)...!

Paul, your seat height adjusted has packed up again! Re-stack the bricks where the castors are missing ;)

..... ;D....!

I find that with increasing age, I am slowly getting shorter in the "body department", Mark....

And trying to peer over the instrument panel to see where I am going, is getting more and more difficult, as each year passes... :'(...!

Selecting various thickness cushions for each flight is becoming far too complicated, I fear!

Paul.... ;)... ;)... ;)...!

Look under the [views] section in Aircraft.cfg. The eyepoint height is defined by the entry in red.

[Views]
eyepoint= -3.95, -0.85, 2.1

I've done it a hundrewd times but still can't be sure -- but I thinks it's the 3rd entry (def not 1st with is forward/backward)

eyepoint=-32.500, -2.000, [glow=yellow,2,300]11.100[/glow]

You will know that before editing you have to exit the aircraft & choose another ..
Best way to edit is copy whole entry & paste in next line with '//' at start so FS will not read it. (then you still have original ... )

Then make small edits & the pain of reloading the a/c to see what the change is. You will find VERY small changes make a noticeable difference. In FSX/W7 you often have to close down the whole program & restart to see the change ..... It's been years since I've used FS9 but I think it was easy to see the change just by reloading the a/c

Got it Lads... :)..!

I am familiar to the procedure of reloading the aircraft each time to note the change... [smiley=thumbsup.gif]...!

Many thanks both!... :)...!

Paul...experiment time!... 8-)...!

Made a note of it, in my ever expanding book of tips!

I am suprised to hear you asking this question about VC, I thought you were one of the last bastions around for 2d cockpits  ::) .......for some like yourself who is clearly addicted to flightsimming  :D and is now moving beyond FS2000 standards to use VC......might I suggest you seriously consider trackir......you will never look back.
Cheers
Romflyer
PS. I am happy to see your triumphant return to the mighty Simv.......your hopelessly bad attitude was badly missed  ;)

Fozzer,
I have a Gauge .cab file that I downloaded with a Baby Bach from http://www.dmflightsim.co.uk/ that contains an eyepoint gauge that I add to all my 2D & the VCs when I can. It allows me to change the eyepoint up & down with the click of the  mouse. Call me lazy, but anything to make life a little easier. ;D

Paul,
It's this one---gauge54=DM_1-11!eyepoint  ;)
And I haven't flown the monster in a long time.  My favorite tube is Moach's 737 Experience & I totally reworked the panel to suit my fancy. If you are interested, PM me & I'll email you a copy. If you like it I should post it.

Dave  :)

Do you fly the C-150L from the French (/Manuel du Reims-Cessna 150)? Great plane, flys really well. I downloaded several textures for that model & then spent days making 2D panels to fit each paint scheme. ;D
Maybe I need a life  :-/
