I was told yesterday that Dave Opa Marshall has had a fatal heart attack...if so, I send my deepest sympathies to his family.

Download and use Fraps, or FSrecorder, or any other app I at the moment do not remember that allows you to record your flight in a video file.

Yes, basically you have to record it. Either use software or a recording device that will accept the signal from the computer's video ports (as was done for the projection you saw).

Thanks....I've just learned that FS9 has an inbuilt recording facility ::) so I'll have a go with that......

The FS9 facility is dreadful.  I'm thinking about Fraps as it doesn't have to be played from within FS9 I gather?

If you have a reasonably fast PC, Fraps is good. It's a separate program, though of the shareware kind (that means that to use it fully you must fork out some dough), it's very widely used and known for its reliability.

Try it out... but before paying for it, try the completely freeware FSrecorder too. You never know... ;)

I thought FSRecorder had to be played throughFS?  I want to give a flight to someone to play at a restored WW2 control tower....

Terry,

You're correct....FSRecorder is a replacement for the default Flight Video recorder and playback is in FS. It works much better and has more options than the default.

Fraps is video capture and records in avi video format. The free version is limited to 30 second clips and places a Fraps watermark in the video.

Once you've captured video clips with Fraps, you can stitch the clips together and edit using Windows Movie Maker which should already be installed on your system.

I think what you are wanting to do, is set up your flight then save it, and let someone else fly it, is that right? or do you want it as a video that you save?

Well...I've made a WW2 airfield & there are plans to restore the tower.
