Some FREE Ford Tri-Motor Textures

Postby Garry » Thu Apr 28, 2011 1:34 am

Hi good people,

Recently I had an enquiry (from Edward C. Moore)  about painting up a Default Microsoft Ford Tri-Motor livery.   The default aircraft are normally "yuck" to repaint but did a VA repaint for him, then he wanted another, and yet another etc - ultimately ended up with 26 repaints.

Though he commissioned me for these repaints he was keen to share the results with other simmers so gave me permission to create a web site page on my site and publish them for your FREE download.

if you want to have a quick look at some images showing all of the liveries please click on:

Pop on over to my site http://www.gjsmith.net and you will find her listed in the Catalogue page - and also listed in the left margin of every page (NEW Stuff).

I hope you all enjoy these freebies  :)

Regards and happy simming to all.

Yes mate - still around and still painting and doing scenery - been very quiet on the "Free" stuff for a while - doing lots of contract work for various organisation and have been "head down bum up" for a very long time.   But having a hiatus from that work at the moment and Edward was persistant on getting some Ford Tri-Motor repaints - the end result is 26 fun liveries for all to enjoy.

Regards and happy simming to all. :)

Another livery for the Ford Tri-Motor.

While my partner was watching the Royal Wedding, for hours and hours, she suggested that I might have some fun with a Royal Wedding livery.

Here is the end results:

You will find her (the livery) on the Ford Tri-Motor page on my site with the other 26 liveries.

Hi Garry,

Those repaints look great. May I make a couple of suggestions? The USAF model needs a different star. The one used in the Trimotor days would not have the bars on either side of the star. And the white star had a red meatball in its center, all on the blue background you've shown. In those days there was no USAF. It was part of the US Army.

Also, the Canadian version more likely had the old Dominion flag, not the current red and white maple leaf version.

I flew an hour or so yesterday in the default Trimotor with American Airways paint job and the RRv4.1 radio range system. It's a wonder there weren't more accidents back then. I won't admit to any now until I talk to my attorney.
