FSX Planes in FS9

Postby imchief » Thu Jan 20, 2011 10:04 am

Hey all.  I found a Basler bt-67 (Propjet dc-3) for FSX but can't find one for FS9.  I can really only run FSX on my laptop and its still chokes with to high resolution etc.  :-[ Anyway, is there a way to use FSX planes in FS9 like you can use FS9 in FSX?

Thanks
Joe

No, you cannot do that.
FSX knows about the FS9 format.
FS9 doesn't know anything about the FSX format.

I highly doubt that "true" FSX aircraft can be used in a backward compatible mode (i.e. in FS2004).

A great many of the so called FSX aircraft are really FS2004 aircraft which have been slightly tweaked to work in FSX - so they very likely will work in FS2004 - with perhaps some un-tweaking.

Trial and error.

Indeed.
The FSX "port-overs" as we call them, are in fact FS9 or FS2002 planes that work in FSX and that have been reuploaded in the FSX sections. But they are still FS9 or FS2002 planes, they are not real FSX planes.
Real FSX planes will NOT work in FS9.
