ground "slides" in far north?

Postby Stewy44 » Sat Oct 30, 2010 10:54 am

G'day guys,

Sorry, another dumb question - I was just wondering if there is a fix for the ground 'moving' underneath the aircraft when you pan around at places like Svalbard (Norway) and Thule Airbase in Greenland.

Is it an 'altitude' problem (airport slightly too high for the actual ground)?

Likely is might be the fact that the FS2004 is based upon a cylinder, not a globe.

Correct.  That's one reason why they went to the round world in FSX.
