There should be no conflict.

As I understand it, normally the only items which get written specifically to your C drive when doing an installation on another drive or partiton is the folder named Flight Simulator Files under your My Document folder.

This is where any Saved Flights (FLT and WX) files are saved by default.

You will note that you most likely already have such a folder for FSX flights named Flight Simulator X Files.

There will also be a folder named FS9 which contains (amongst other things) your FS9.cfg file.

there will be little to no conflict between FSX and FS9 if they are on the same drive (or seperate drives) as far as programs go.  The only conflict that may arise, and I seriously doubt it, would be RAM if you try to run both at the same time. Which can be done if you have the available CPU, GRAPHICS, and RAM to support such a task. But then again, why would you want both running at the same time as you can only really fly 1 at a time?

as OPA already stated, there will be a few very small folders installed to your C: which all in all would maybe equal 15MB (very small).

FS9 reads only from its folders, and FSX will only read from its folders.

there will also be the REGISTRY entry, but that takes up what? 1-2kb per entry?
