Can you add a panel to an airplane?

Sorry to start a new topic, but had a quick question. One of my planes doesn't have a 2D insturment panel. I downloaded an old style 3 engine (one on each wing and one in front of the tail) Lockheed Delta 1980s paint job plane and the download did say it did not have a panel. Well, I wanted to give it one. Can I download a copy of any jet plane's insturment panel (777, 747, 737) and install it as the panel for this plane? Or does it have to be made specifically for that model? And uh,...how do I do that? I know how to add DLed planes. Do I just need to open the file under 'Aircraft', select the plane and see if it has a folder named 'Panel' and download a panel file from this site, and unzip and put it into that folder? That would be all I would have to do right?

I do it all the time to my Aircraft, replacing the existing 2D panel with one of my choice... ....!

Rename the existing Panel.cfg Folder: "originalPanel.cfg", and replace it with your own Panel.cfg Folder from an existing Aircraft in your Hangar, (to retain all the necessary Gauges!)*

actually FOZ, if the new panel has a VC section in the Panel.cfg that you just added, you should see the new VC as that will be read and not the one from your originalPanel.cfg

granted all required gauges are in the main FS9/X GAUGES folder.

Actually, I am a bit lazy when it comes to modifying Panels... ...

2D panels are easy-peasy to work on, by hand, calculating the X,Y,nn,nn coordinates for gauge positioning.
Working on the 3D VC Panel is a little more difficult?. Things are not always where I expect them to be located "in space".... ...!
Sometimes, if I am lucky, my new 2D gauge(s) will automatically appear in my 3D panel...but not always!
...and anyway...I mostly drive using the 2D panel... ...so that problem is solved!... ....!
