DC-9 tail-wheel lock ?

Postby gypsymoth » Wed Jun 02, 2010 1:58 am

My default DC9 won't steer.   The tail-wheel lock lever is in the off position but it still won't steer.   Can anyone tell me why?    I've tried other rear wheel steering aircraft & they all work.
Thanks.

Hi Gypsymoth,

Open your DC3 aircraft.cfg file (notepad will do) and find the

Hi Stewpot,

Is there a way to add a simple autopilot too (even just for altitude hold?)

I used to know how to do it - but have forgotten :(

Cheers
Stew

Yes - I put an AP into my Auster for just that purpose.  I'll have to get back to you tho' as I'm at my Mac right now.  When I have the FS machine fired up I'll add my 'how to' unless some-one else does  8-)

Here's how I put an AP into my Auster:

In the panel cfg I added it as Window03
[Window Titles]
Window00=Main Panel
Window01=Radio Stack
Window02=GPS
Window03=Autopilot
Window04=Cpit Cmdr

Stewpot's steerable tailwheel edit will work but the default DC-3 already has differential brakes. To use them for ground steering simply apply brakes with rudder.

As Hagar has said you can steer this bird with differential braking, which I do with the aircraft that the .cfg fix doesn't work for.
I use a simple joystick and use F10 and F11 for differential braking.
