Hi fellas,

Just a quick question, is there any information around that outlines the speed/alt requirements for climbing the default Learjet 45 to the very high cruise altitudes?

I know up to FL330 it's .80 Mach - but what about beyond that? Does it go any higher?

I'm sure that for the sake of FS, .80 mach is plenty accurate enough, but if you want true accuracy, try searching for the POH (Pilot's Operating Handbook).  I searched and came up with not much after a few minutes, but you could get luckier.  You could try this page which has several PDFs about flying the Lear 45.

In my FS 2004 default Bombardier Learjet 45 the maximum I can achieve before I get an over-speed warning is 330 Knots (Mach 0.5) at FL 50...to FL 100.

Fozz, you are just flying too fast, too low.  Actually in real life, regulations limit airspeed to 250 kts below 10,000 feet.

Low flying, high speed Military Jets...a different set of rules?

Military aircraft do not have to comply with civil regulations but are restricted to subsonic speed over land.

Looks like I've got to stick to my Beech Baron 58 and King Air 300 to hurry between Airfields at low level...to comply with the speed rules...and still admire the scenery down below....:-/...!

It looks as though I must avoid getting too excited with speed at low levels, during my California excursions... ...!

My trusty, turbo-charged, Beech Baron 58 will just about reach the maximum speed allowed...(almost)....
...which is nice!... ...!
