RAF Mona

Postby DH Albatross » Thu Jan 21, 2010 8:37 am

I sometimes use RAF Mona as an alternate when I am flying display routines at nearby RAF Valley. However, I cannot find any data on the lengths and directions of the two disused runways. I have managed to construct some of the taxiways in AFCAD using maps but the runway data is necessary because AFCAD reverses how the airfield is viewed, ie, from the north rather from the expected south. This means it is difficult to judge the directions and lengths purely by eye. Does anyone know of this data or have it in their possession?

Do you have the Afcad>View 'Lock to Flight Sim' set. When 'locked' Afcad rotates the view to your aircraft heading. Unlocked, north is top.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.
