I'm experiencing issues when it comes to Gliders,
I dont know how to get to the air because i cant takeoff the normal way since Gliders has no engines and needs plane to carry it to the air(unless some has engines out there or i read that FSX has planes which can carry you)
I tried to change the scenery ,too, to one that suppose to be good for Gliders but that didnt help-yet i start on the takeoff road(or whatever its name is) and cant move/takeoff :(
any help would be appreciated
Thanks in advance , p.s: sorry for my noobness

For Gliders:

...my "fiddle", for FS 2004, is to press "Y" (Slew)....

..then "Q" to increase height....

(.."A" to reduce height).

Upon reaching the desired height, toggle "Y" again to release the Aircraft.

...sorry Rom...you beat me to it!...;)...!

P.S. The above routine is handy for transporting Float Planes from Hard Runways, to Water landings...;)...!

Gliders: Excellent way to learn the secrets of Flight. A good first start!...;)...!

Next step: the Default Cessna 172 Trainer. (Or Cessna 150/152).

I believe some gliders come with a winch launch gauge. Also look in the SimV glider section for lots of soaring scenery with thermals.

Here's an easy method to simulate a winch launch in any glider in FS9.

First set up a flight with your favourite glider at an airfield/airport of your choice.
As soon as the flight loads press the P key to pause the flight.
Open the Map (World/Map). Increase the Altitude by 1 foot higher than displayed. Set the Airspeed to 250. Click OK.
You can save the flight at this point to avoid having to set it up again.
Press the P key to launch. Be ready on the stick to control the launch angle. This should launch you to about 2,000 feet. (Experiment with the Airspeed setting to increase altitude.)

Important: Turn off 'Aircraft stress causes damage' from Aircraft/Realism Settings before trying it.

oh so glad you suggested turning off aircraft stress as you would be way over vme and at 250 over vne as well.

Lordleor: I used to loop at around 95-97 knts in a k21 and k23, can't remember the speeds in gliders similar to the default one in fs9, such as a k13, other gliders are going to have different.

I would turn damage thru stress back on again after launch.

If you really fancy gliding, try Sots Golds, it's an extremely good glider sim.

You could use a cessna 152 to get where you want then change aircraft.

steve

[color=#000000]I have no idea how or why, except for motor gliders, but every glider I have will operate as if it had an engine. I just throttle up and when altitude is reached, throttle down. Maybe someone could explain to me how/why this is.
