Does no one know how to lower the idle rate on a Dash 7 or how to change the default airport from KSEA to something else?

Changing to a different airport is easy. Go to your favourite airport, pick a parking or gate and safe your flight as default. Next time you start FS you'll be at whatever airport you have chosen.

Don't have a clue about the Dash7.

Someone with more technical knowledge than I might know but you can edit the Aircraft cfg file if your controls don't get you what you want.     Copy it before changing anything though.    ::)

Turbo-props have 2 controls that are used to control idle speed. (Look at the default Cessna 208 Caravan)

The 'Conditioner' with 'high idle/low idle/fuel cutoff'.
The 'Propeller RPM' (prop pitch) with 'high/low/feather'.

If you're using Milton Shupe's Dash 7, it uses the default 747 panel so does not have these controls on the ECU. You can either...

Install an add-on panel for a 4 engine turbo-prop, or use the default key assignments.

-Conditioner (uses Mixture assignment)-Ctrl+Shift+F2 (to lower idle) or Ctrl+Shift+F3 (to raise). On Milton's, don't go below about 58% N2 or you'll go to 'fuel cutoff'.

-Prop RPM-Ctrl+F2 (to lower) or Ctrl+F3 (to raise).

You could also make joystick button or axis assignments for Mixture and Prop RPM.

Another way around this problem is to install a taxi gauge. I use them on all my turbo aircraft.I am certain you can find one here just do not know where 8-)

Don't know where you downloaded your Dash-7, but Shupe's has a custom 2d with many helpful systems popups, as well as a full and custom VC.
In regard to the original question, just mind the condition levers and the prop rpm levers.

I found in the past, that getting used to the additional controls on Aircraft fitted with turbine driven props,
was a complexity that required some time and practice to get fully accustomed to, and master...similar to upgrading to Retractable Gear Aircraft..."Complex Types"....;)...!

Paul...G-BPLF...FS 2004... 8-)...!

Sean..
Don't know where you downloaded your Dash-7......

Found it here-http://www.simviation.com/fs2004props88.htm-the only complete Dash 7 I could find in the FS2004 Props.

Following your comment I went looking at other sites and found Milton's Dash 7 with vc.....Thanks!!
