I ran a search and checked the tutorials but did not find anything. Can someone tell me how to do a second install of FS9? Thanks.

I think he means a duplicate install of FS9. I'll leave that to one of the experts.

I saw a thread a while back where someone was talking about installing FS9 again, not re-installing, but putting it on the same hard drive a second time, ending up with two. I just want to know how. I think it would be eaiser than re-installing or trying to manually uninstall Silver Wings. With a second, separate install, I can just move or copy all my aircraft and some scenery. Then I can install VOZ. Sorry if I was confusing Paul. I did not really know how else to say it. :-/[color=#000000]Edit: I think they need to rename this smiley patchz. :-/

Good idea. It should be easy enough but as I've never done it with FS9 it's better if I leave this to someone else.

Paul might be confused but I knew exactly what you meant.

I'm pretty sure that all you need to do is rename your existing install, something like fs9old or whatever you like. then put in disk one and it should start the install process........BUT I've not done this with FS. I have with other sims and it worked fine. Hopefully someone else will step up and confirm that this works correctly with FS9.

I think you also have to rename fs9.exe so it creates another fs9.cfg. Otherwise both installations would use the same fs9.cfg. I'm not sure of the exact procedure which is the reason I didn't go into any details.

Ok, thanks guys. Think I'll wait to hear from someone that has done it and knows the exact procedure.
Off topic, but I was beginning to go into withdrawal. Haven't been able to pull up SimV since yesterday afternoon. But before I ask what was going on, I'll look to see if there's some news in another thread.
I was almost...
Edit: Got my answer, found Pete's thread about the crash. Scary!

Yeah, I kinda thought it was Shane, but I wasn't sure. Thanks.

I've installed FSX in the default and on the "C" drive, I'm thinking the same would work for FS9. First, creat a folder on your "C" drive "FS9", or whatever, and when you install FS9, rather than let the installation wizard install it in the default "C\Programs\microsoft games..", redirect the install to "C\FS9".
They will share the FS9.CFG, and when you add new add-on scenery, if you do not install the new scenery on both, it will give you "Cannot find XXX..." warnings when you load the one that does not have the new scenery.
At least, that's how it works with FSX, and I don't think it would be any different with FS9.
Caveat emptor.... :o

Rename your FS9 folder to something else, also name the FS9.cfg & FS9.exe that, and it will recognize it, allowing you to not have to rename anything after.
Then just pop in your FS9 disc one and install as you normally would. You can do this as many times as you have available hard drive space.
The same works for FSX.
I have 3 copies of FS9 and two copies of FSX on my Hard drive at the moment.

What installation wizard is being referred to? I have MS XP aqnd as far as I know, I don't have one that installs add-ons directly to FS9? Am I confusing this tool with something else? This may seem an elementary Q but I am not too familiar with the workings of XP.
