Is there a way to adjust, in game, the color/brightness of the heads up display on military jets? I have been unable to find any reference to it.

Well, I guess you could edit the HUD brightness in the gauge files, as long as they're in *.CAB files.  Although this would require decompiling and then recompiling them.  For this you would need the Panel and Gauges SDK.

yes and no.

if you have the F14Drev3 (near bottom of page: http://www.simviation.com/fs2004military126.htm)

there is a button on the panel that can switch the HUD from bright green (night flight / low level flight) to a dark green (daytime / high level flight)

there are a few other craft that I have seen with this capability, and i do have 2-3 that can do it, but it would take me a while to go though my list to see exactly what planes, and then what .GAU''s they are to put on your panel.

Thanks. That is exactly what I was talking about. I'm not sure if that is one of the F-14s I have without looking. But one of mine is currently not working and I no longer have the download. I intend to download it again, but I am probably going to re-install FS9 in a couple of weeks so I am trying not to download any more for now. I also ordered 3 gigs of ram just now and hope to have my setup in much better shape in a couple of weeks.

just make sure you backup your AIRCRAFT, ADDON SCENERY, GAUGES, EFFECTS, and MODULES folders BEFORE you uninstall just to keep everything that you have pretty much already put in.

I myself, am looking at a possible uninstall  :-/  I had added in some NICE ground textures that appearently are worldwide, and as nice as they may look..... GOOD GOD !! i went from 25-30fps down to 4-5 WITH CLEAR WEATHER!!!!

anyways..... i am really good at placing gauges on a .bmp / .jpeg background for a panel, so if you need/want any help replacing the hud, or switches, just shoot me a pm.
