Downloaded a bunch of flt/wx/pln files.

WS 06[/glow]
to be specific.

Placed the FLT/WX/PLN in their proper folders, fired it up and got the "A319-111 CFM Air France aircraft initialization" failure

Ok, got me a Project Airbus (pa319-cfm56) A319-111 Air France aircraft, placed it in my aircraft folder, named exactly that way.

The folder is named that way, and the title line in the aircraft.cfg file is named that way, but I still get the failure.

Where does FLT look for that title?

And is it the TITLE, or is it AIRCRAFT?

I mean, will an IFDG A319-111 named correctly work?
Or, is it looking for a Project Airbus A319-111?

Seems like any aircraft named properly should work, but I don't know

FLT files look for a match on the title= line and if one is not found you get the "failure" error message.

You can open any FLT file with Notepad and look for the following:

[Plane.0]
Aircraft=Boeing 737-400 SWA

In this case the FLT file is looking for a match on the title = line which reads title=Boeing 737-400 SWA

The title= line is normally the first line under the [fltsim.?] label of each variation (paint) for every aircraft.

It does not matter at all how the aircraft folder might be named - just how the title= lines are stated.

Hope this is of help.
