Merging features same craft, two different models

Postby JJH » Sat Apr 25, 2009 9:42 am

Because I'm still trying to learn the ropes, here's my problem - I found a series of repaints for a fictional airline (JHB Airlines) which also happens to be my initials. Most required a base model. A Beechcraft B1900D required one made by Mike Stone:

Base model - Flightsim.com, file sb1900d.zip
plus
Repaint - homepages.mcb.net/bones/jhb/jhbaircraft.htm
(We'll call this BMike)

But Mike Stone's model only has a 2D cockpit, and uses a KingAir panel.

I had previously downloaded a B1900D (Page 162 - Continental Connection) which has all the goodies and then some. (We'll call this BCC) I would like to somehow end up with a version with the JHB repaint of BMike and the guts of BCC. So far, I've been unable to install the repaint from BMike to BCC, and I've been able to install only the panel from BCC to BMike. I have no idea where one would find the the virtual cockpit or how to install it even if I did.

Any advice and assistance will be greatly appreciated. :-?

Your first problem, is that you can't use a repaint (textures) for one model, on a different model (even if it's a model of the same airplane).

You'll need to find, make, or have made.. a repaint for the model you choose.

As for VCs.. they're model dependent too.. as in, you can't add a VC... it's part of the model.
