I could really use some help please.

Postby jrbirdman » Sat Apr 18, 2009 2:15 am

I have added a lot of add-on scenery and when I move stuff up on the priority list, the lower on the list doesn't load textures. I.E. I put my Las Vegas scenery No.1 and 2 and my S50 scenery No.3. Well Vegas loads fine however, S50 loads the buildings however, without textures. It is very frusterating. Any help would be much apprieciated because I don't know what else to do or any one else to turn to. Thank you very much in advance, Jeremy.

Have you checked the texture files are in the correct texture folder?

It would help if you could be more specific. If you say exactly which scenery you have problems with & where it's posted perhaps someone can download the files to check them out.

Note that some scenery requires that you have "NOVA Textures" installed in your Texture Folder for it to appear on the buildings.

This is often the case if you installed Bush Flyers Unlimited (BFU) scenery from Avsim... (where the NOVA Textures can be found)...!

It often states this requirement in the scenery Read-me file, etc.

Well for example if my Las Vegas 2004 file from avsim is priority 1 and my Alphasim Nellis AFB is priority 3 per se then my Las Vegas shows up fine where as my Nellis AFB will show up but texture less and vice versa. So I am rather confused.

Alphasim Nellis AFB

Is this released as Freeware? I obviously can't check out Payware without purchasing it. Make sure you read any instructions with the download carefully. You might need to download other files. As Fozzer says, some scenery requires common texture libraries to be installed for the textures to display properly. Gerrish Gray's Tree Library is one example.

The layer priority should only affect textures when two or more scenery areas use the same ones which sometimes happens with different scenery areas by the same author.* In this case the scenery with the master textures should be arranged below the others on the Scenery Library list.

*This seems unlikely with the examples you quoted.

See my whole problem is that I have them all higher priority than the default scenery. I just don't understand how some textures load fine and the rest end up grey. BTW Ozzy, I have checked and I do have NOVA gold textures installed. So I wam at kind of a loss at the moment. :(

Thanks you everyone for your input. I figured it out. I just moved the FS9 add-on scenery file to priority 1. Thanks again, Jeremy.
