May not be the correct location for this - a question that's probably been asked before.  In some of my sceneries lakes are sitting on little plateau-like areas sticking out of the ground - apparently an elevation problem.  This, along with mismatched shorelines and water levels, presents a kind of surreal look.  Is there a way to minimize either of these little phenomena?
