Just wanting to see how many take the time to organise there display window. I had created folders GA, Military, Boeing, etc.... But I just reinstalled and really dont want to have to re edit all the .CFG's of all the aircraft. How many do this.

"display window"

you mean the aircraft selection box in FS9?? I have done it to an extent... all Boeings (that I know are boeings) get grouped, Lockheed-Martin, Grumman.... All the craft that I know what they are get grouped so that for me it is a hair faster in finding what I want to fly when I want to do it.

[left]I never used to do it but been doing it and trying to catch it all up.
I messed up a few times when I down loaded something new and
changed the name so it would fall in line with the list of aircraft but
didn't match the name up in the aircraft.cfg and lost it for a few
days lol!.

Stupid question but I'm at work. How exactly DO you organize these?

You simply open the aircraft.cfg with notepad and look for the the ui_manufacturer entry. From there you can type whatever name you like lets say Boeing (remember you have to do this for each area of the .cfg some only have 1 but others have many depending on how may repaints, simply all the areas under the [fltsim.xx]). Were you see ui_manufacturer entrys.
Once you have done this for all your boeing aircraft when you launch fs9 you will see in the top drop down box the name boeing then in the second drop down box you will have all your aircraft there.
I usually have one for GA, Boeing, Small Aircraft, Military, and helocopters.....

I used to do this, back in the day when I had hundreds of aircraft in the sim...
I did it mostly to put similar planes under the same category, since some developers usually put the aircraft under their own names... I used to change them for make of aircraft, so they would group
FSX and it's new aircraft library organization kind of eliminated that need, but there are times when I feel the layout of FS9's library was far much better
Cheers
